Sivakumar begun his career as a Project Engineer with Tamilnadu Water Supply and Drainage (TWAD) Board in India, handling the formulation, planning, design, and estimates of urban water supply projects. Sivakumar has more than 30 years of experience, providing Expert Engineering services in the areas of Reinforced Concrete, Prestressed Concrete, Steel Structural Systems, Post-Tensioned (PT) Floor System, Creep and Shrinkage Behavior of Concrete Structures, Material Testing, Punching Shear Behavior of Flat Plates, Infrastructure Planning Design & Optimization, Contract Documents, Project Management, Inspection and Evaluation of Existing Structures, and Water Resources Management. Sivakumar has worked in the U.S. and abroad with the following organizations: Florida Atlantic University, Thornton Tomasetti Inc., PTE Systems International, Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority, Institute for Water Studies, Public Works Department, and TWAD Board. Sivakumar’s experience encompasses an exceptional mix of capabilities in structural engineering, structural analysis, inspections, field condition assessments, evaluations and strengthening of existing structures, structural integrity repairs and protocols, forensic and claims review and analysis, litigation support, construction administration, highway bridge design, water supply infrastructure planning, development & design, project management and maintenance, and metropolitan infrastructure development and maintenance. Sivakumar is a registered Professional Engineer in FL, an Adjunct Professor at FAU teaching senior level design courses, and actively involved in committees with ACI, ASCE, PTI, PCI and AISC professional organizations. Sivakumar has published numerous journal articles and delivered lectures and presentations. In 2020, Sivakumar joined DDA Claims Management as a Civil & Structural Engineer, bringing his extensive engineering knowledge and experience to our team. Sivakumar is fully suited to handle complex residential and commercial damage assessments.
